Dear Colleagues and Guests,

It is a great pleasure for me to welcome you to Chiba, Japan, and to the 35th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Association for Chest Surgery (JACS).

The 35th JACS meeting will be held in Makuhari Messe for two days on May 17 and 18, 2018. The theme of the meeting is “Aiming for practice of general thoracic surgery based on both ART and Evidence”, which means that, for our progress, we should keep brushing up our surgical skills and making an effort to establishment of surgical evidence at the same time. I expect to have more than 1,000 scientific papers and approximately 2,000 participants. International session will be held during the meeting in English. Travel fee, up to 50,000 Japanese yen, will be provided for foreign fellows presenting scientific papers. We also prepare several special sessions such as “Consensus and near future”, “Research mind and career development”, and “Operative scheme contest”, that would make you take an interest in.

The venue, Makuhari Messe, is a very convenient place with easy access to public transportation. It is about 20 minutes fro the Tokyo Station, and 1 hour from two International Air Ports, Narita and Haneda. In addition, it is only 20 minutes to the Tokyo Disney Resort from Makuhari Messe.

I am very looking forward to seeing you in Makuhari Messe, and expect you have a special time in Chiba, too.
